The Lucky Spot by Beth Henley. Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley takes us to Christmas Eve 1934, the low point in the American Depression in Pigeon, Louisiana. Reed Hooker is out to change his fortunes by creating a dance hall called The Lucky Spot in a house he won in a poker game. When characters' dreams, passions, and jealousies collide, The Lucky Spot may be torn apart before the first customer arrives.
