National POW/MIA Recognition: Join Rolling Thunder® chapters for The Ride Home on National POW/MIA Recognition Weekend, September 18 & 19, 2009 in Andersonville, Americus and Cordele, GA. The weekend pays tribute to American POWs who have returned, and reaffirms our commitment to those still waiting to come home. In cooperation with National Parks Service, the Recognition ceremony takes place at the Andersonville National Historic Site, home of the National POW/MIA Museum. Events of the weekend include Escort Rides, Remembrance Service, Recognition Ceremony, Korean War ex-POW Plaque Dedication, Candlelight Service, music by the Marine Logistics Band, USAF and USN military fly overs and more.
